
Three candidates filed their nominations for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Assam on Thursday. The nominations were submitted to the Returning Officer by the ruling NDA – BJP's Jogen Mohan and Terash Gowala, along with UPPL's Pramod Boro.
Notably, no opposition or independent candidates have filed nominations for the three seats.
Expressing gratitude after getting the opportunity to contest for the Rajya Sabha for the first time, the candidates thanked the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister, and the party leadership.
Meanwhile, Terash Gowala drew attention by arriving on a bicycle to file his nomination.
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, along with several ministers, MLAs, and party leaders and workers, were present during the filing of the nominations.
