Dhanbad, March 27 Around six people were injured in an incident of stone pelting during a Ram Navami procession in Bhikraipur, Dhanbad district, Jharkhand, on Friday evening, police said.
All the injured are stable and have been discharged from the hospital after treatment.
"It was a minor incident involving stone pelting among teenagers from two communities during the procession. The police intervened and the situation was quickly brought under control. Everything is normal in the area at the moment," said SSP Prabhat Kumar.
Dhanbad City SP Ritvik Shrivastav said that normalcy was restored within half an hour.
An investigation into the incident is underway, he added.
Several processions are organized by devotees across the state on the occasion of Ram Navami every year.
