
Amaravati, March 17 The Andhra Pradesh government released ₹45 crore to imams and muezzins across the state on Tuesday as part of the honorarium being extended to them under the NDA regime.
The funds were released on the orders of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the run-up to the Ramzan festival.
"As per the orders of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, ₹45 crore has been released as honorarium to imams and muezzins," said an official press release.
Pending honorarium for six months have been cleared, following Naidu's participation in the state Iftar on Monday night.
"Approval of an amount of ₹45,00,00,000 as additional funds for the purpose of paying honorarium to imams and muezzins of 5,000 mosques (mosques) at a rate of ₹15,000 per month to each mosque for the period from October 2025 to March 2026 (six months) during the current financial year 2025-26," it said.
