
Ranchi, March 29 Three people, including a four-year-old boy, were killed in separate road accidents in Jharkhand's Ranchi and Sahibganj districts on Sunday, police said.
In Ranchi, two brothers were killed after a truck hit their motorcycle at Chamghati on the Ranchi-Purulia Road within the Angara police station limits, located about 48 km from here, a police officer said.
"The bodies of both victims have been sent for post-mortem examination at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi. They were returning home when a speeding truck hit their motorcycle. The collision was so severe that both died on the spot," Gautam Kumar Rajwar, officer-in-charge of Angara police station, said.
The deceased have been identified as Anil Mahto (28) and Prabhat Mahto (35), both residents of Navadih village under the same police station area, he said.
The truck had a West Bengal registration number. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Police have seized the truck, the OC said.
In Sahibganj, a four-year-old boy was killed when an unidentified motorcycle hit him on the Rajmahal- Sahibganj four-lane in Budhbaria village within the Rajmahal police station limits.
Rajmahal police station in-charge Husnain Ansari said the accident happened around 10.30 am and the boy died on the spot.
