Puducherry, March 21 N Rangasamy, the founder of AINRC and Chief Minister of Puducherry, has declared total assets worth Rs 27.99 crore, according to an affidavit filed with the Election Commission on Saturday.

According to the document filed by the veteran leader, his immovable assets include Rs 21.25 lakh, which comprises two motorcycles, two cars (including a premium SUV), a 12-gram gold ring, and a 12-gram pearl chain.

The affidavit states that he owns no agricultural land or commercial buildings, and that no criminal proceedings are pending against him.

The value of the immovable assets declared by him includes non-agricultural land in Thattanchavady, valued at Rs 8 crore, and two residential buildings in Thattanchavady village, each measuring 25,000 sq ft and 40,000 sq ft respectively. He has invested Rs 28 lakh in these properties, which were inherited. The market value of the properties is Rs 27.78 crore, according to the affidavit.

In terms of liabilities, Rangasamy owes Rs 30 lakh to one individual and Rs 5 lakh to another. The affidavit states that he has no outstanding debts to the government.

He also clarified that there are no ongoing or concluded legal cases against him. He declared that neither he nor his wife or dependents hold any assets or liabilities.
