February 28, New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir has created history by winning the Ranji Trophy title for the first time, defeating Karnataka based on a first innings lead in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy final.
After choosing to bat, J&K posted a massive 584 in their first innings, thanks to a century from Shubham Pundir. With the ball, they bowled out Karnataka for 293, largely due to pace spearhead Auqib Nabi's outstanding five-wicket haul, securing a decisive first innings lead.
Veteran Mayank Agarwal scored a superb century in what turned out to be Karnataka's only significant innings. With a lead of 291, J&K extended their advantage to 633 in the second innings, as Qamran Iqbal and Sahil Lotra also registered centuries.
The match ended in a draw on Day 5, with Jammu and Kashmir clinching the title due to their first innings lead.
With this victory, J&K has become the 19th different team to win India's biggest domestic cricket prize.
