Rashid Khan Tied for Second at PGTI Open.webp

Nuh, March 21 – MJ Daffue will enter the final day of the $300,000 DP World PGTI Open with a four-stroke lead after recording five under par on Saturday at the Classic Golf & Country Club.

The South African, who began the third round tied for the lead with Rashid Khan, continued his impressive form into day three, scoring six birdies and one bogey to reach 16 under par for the week.

His round was stopped with six holes remaining, due to the delayed start (fog) and later suspended due to darkness.

"I had a bit of a slow start," he said. "Once I found some good momentum, I was able to start playing more freely. I managed to get back into my routine."

"I made some good decisions and had a lucky break on the ninth hole. I have always been a very good player who can recover quickly, so I was pleased to bounce back from the bogey."

Daffue has had a strong start to the 2026 Road to Mallorca, winning his first HotelPlanner Tour title at the NTT Data Pro-Am last month, and is looking for a second victory in the fifth event of the season.

"The goal is to win every tournament. It would be very special to win for the second time this season; it was my goal to play well early in the season."

"You don't want to think too much about what will happen tomorrow, because we are all human, but if I can do my best, I think I can lift the trophy."

"I really enjoy this golf course, and with 24 holes left, I will try to conquer them all."

Khan finished the day in a group of four at 14 under par, alongside Swede Adam Wallin, Austrian Lukas Nemecz, and Italian Aron Zemmer. Saptak Talwar is one stroke behind the group, in sixth position.

The other two Indians in the top 10 are Ravi Kumar and Yuvraj Sandhu, both tied for ninth place at 11 under.

Play will resume at 9 am on Sunday morning for those who have not yet completed their third round, while the final round will begin at 9.30 am.
