
New Delhi, March 5 The change of guard ceremony will now take place at a new time, starting this Saturday, from 8 am, the President's office has announced.
The ceremony is a military tradition held every week (on Saturday) to allow a fresh group of the President's Bodyguard (PBG) to take over.
"The change of guard ceremony, which takes place every Saturday at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, will now take place at a new time, i.e., from 8:00 am to 9:00 am, starting this Saturday (March 7, 2026)," it said in a statement.
The PBG, established in 1773, is the most senior regiment of the Indian Army. It is a regiment responsible for ceremonial duties for the President of India.
The PBG personnel are excellent horsemen, skilled tank operators, and paratroopers.
