Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan stated that by empowering a skilled workforce, India is not only building its own economic future but also contributing to the world.

Addressing the inaugural convocation of the Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University in Mumbai, he described the occasion as a milestone in India's journey towards becoming a global hub of skilled human resources. He urged students to contribute to nation-building and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, emphasizing that degrees must lead to employability.

The Vice President also highlighted the need to stay updated with emerging technologies like AI and to develop soft skills. Vice President Radhakrishnan, who previously served as the Governor of Maharashtra, is on his maiden visit to the state after assuming the role of Vice President.

On the occasion, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar also addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of skill development, innovation, and lifelong learning.

The Vice President also presented gold medals to meritorious students and felicitated three industrial training institutions for their contribution to skilling youth. A "Say No to Drugs" campaign was also launched during the event.
