Puri, April 11 The inventory of the Puri Jagannath temple's Ratna Bhandar's outer chamber was completed on Saturday, an official said.
Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee said the second phase of the inventory, which began on April 8, concluded in the evening.
The inventory exercise, being conducted for the first time in 48 years, commenced on March 25 with the counting of daily-use ornaments of the deities.
During the second phase, ornaments and jewellery primarily used during festivals, including the 'Suna Besha' (golden attire) during the Rath Yatra, stored in the outer chamber, were catalogued.
Padhee said the third phase will begin on April 13, focusing on Ratna Bhandar's inner treasury. The process will be paused on April 14 due to Mahabishuba Sankranti and will resume from April 16 to continue until April 18.
He said the entire process was documented through videography, photography and 3D mapping to ensure transparency. A digital catalogue of the ornaments has also been prepared and secured in separate 'sindhukas' (treasure chests).
As per the standard operating procedure (SOP) laid down by the state government, all authorised personnel, including Padhee, wore traditional attire and underwent security checks before participating in the exercise.
"All ornaments stored in the Bahar Ratna Bhandar were counted in this phase. The process has been completed, and the treasury gate was sealed at 6.35 pm in the presence of a magistrate," Padhee said.
The recorded data from the inventory process has been securely stored in the temple administration's strong room.
Devotees were allowed entry into the temple during the exercise but had 'darshan' of the deities from the outer barricade.
