Mumbai, March 8 Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said on Sunday that India, as a nation, has "completely lost its existence" in the wake of the ongoing war in West Asia, triggered by the joint US-Israel attack on Iran.
The Rajya Sabha MP also stated that the United States and Israel are acting like global bullies, while major countries like India, which until recently boasted of their bravery, are acting as agents of these bullies.
In his weekly column 'Rokthok' in Shiv Sena (UBT) mouthpiece Saamana, Raut said that India should have taken the lead in stopping the Iran war, which has become a major issue.
This has also exposed the weakness of Indian leadership, he said, pointing out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not spoken about the crisis.
"When war has erupted in West Asia, India as a nation has completely lost its existence," Raut said.
The Rajya Sabha MP said that President Donald Trump and Israel believed that Iran could be defeated like a "cockroach".
After killing Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, they thought the war would end, he said.
However, this did not happen. Many Iranian leaders and military personnel were killed. Yet, Iran is still fighting and attacking Israel, Raut said.
"The US and Israel are acting like global bullies, and major countries like India, which boast of their bravery, are acting as their agents," he claimed.
