RCBA Protests Police Inaction After Advocate's Brother Killed.webp

New Delhi, March 24 The Rohini Court Bar Association (RCBA) called for a strike on March 25 to protest police inaction following a brutal attack on an advocate's house, which resulted in his brother being killed.

On March 19, miscreants attacked the house of Advocate Pawan Bhardwaj, resulting in the death of his brother, while his father and nephew sustained bullet injuries.

The executive committee of RCBA noted that although the incident was captured on nearby CCTV cameras, police had not arrested any of the individuals involved in the attack in the six days following the incident.

RCBA strongly condemned the attack and requested senior police officials to take immediate and appropriate action.

"Accordingly, it has been unanimously resolved to call for a strike/abstinence from work tomorrow, i.e., March 25, 2024, to show solidarity and brotherhood among the members of the legal fraternity," RCBA said in its notice, signed by President Rajiv Tehlan and Honorary Secretary Pardeep Khatri.

"All members are requested to support Advocate Pawan Bhardwaj and his family during this difficult time and to cooperate," they added.

They clarified that bail and stay matters would be exempted from the strike.

They also requested the Principal District and Session Judge of the North and North West districts, along with the judicial officers of the two districts, to cooperate and refrain from issuing any adverse orders during the strike.
