
JAMMU, MARCH 31: Minister Javid Ahmad Dar informed the Legislative Assembly that significant progress has been made in fund allocation and utilization under various Rural Development Department (RDD) schemes during 2024–26.
Responding to a question by legislator Ajaz Ahmad Jan, he said major centrally sponsored schemes such as MGNREGA, PMAY-G, SBM-G, IWMP, and UT CAPEX have seen significant fund release and on-the-ground utilization.
He highlighted that over ₹1.13 lakh and ₹91,338 have been utilized under MGNREGA, while ₹65,876 has been spent under PMAY-G to promote rural housing. Under SBM-G, more than ₹7,161 has been used for sanitation, and ₹5,332 has been spent under IWMP for watershed management. Additionally, ₹5,149 has been spent under UT CAPEX for community development.
The Minister said the government is ensuring efficient fund use through close monitoring and timely execution, with a focus on balanced development, including border areas. He added that pending works are targeted for completion by the end of the financial year.
