REASI, FEBRUARY 26: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Kumar Abhishek, held a series of review meetings on Wednesday to assess the performance and functioning of the Cooperative, Water Resources, and Health Departments in the district.
While reviewing the Cooperative Department, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to strengthen the financial health of cooperative institutions. He called for increased transparency and the promotion of income-generating activities in coordination with relevant stakeholder departments.
Reviewing the Water Resources Department, the DC examined the status of ongoing projects, focusing on both financial and physical progress. He directed officers to expedite work and prioritize the timely completion of all ongoing schemes.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner chaired a meeting of the District Task Force to finalize preparations for the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign, which is scheduled to begin on February 28, 2026.
The vaccination campaign aims to immunize 14-year-old girls against cervical cancer, a major public health concern in the country. Detailed discussions were held on identifying the target population, ensuring infrastructure readiness, availability of trained personnel, effective cold chain management, and selecting vaccination sites for the smooth execution of the program.
The DC also reviewed the overall healthcare scenario in the district, assessing progress under various health schemes, the functioning of health institutions, infrastructure upgrades, and the quality of healthcare services being delivered to patients.
Chief Planning Officer Narinder Kumar, Executive Engineers from concerned departments, and other officials from the Cooperative, Water Resources, and Health Departments attended the meetings.
