A major initiative has been undertaken to strengthen the electricity infrastructure in Reasi with the launch of the RDSS-ED Reasi Project under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme. The project was formally inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Kumar Abhishek.
The project is being implemented under the ownership of Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited, while the execution work has been assigned to NTPC Limited. Under this initiative, modern technology and an improved electricity distribution system will be introduced to strengthen the overall power supply network in the district.
The scheme is expected to significantly curb electricity theft. In addition, improvements in the distribution network will help provide consumers with more reliable and stable electricity supply. Officials said the project will also help reduce unnecessary power cuts, bringing relief to the public.
Authorities believe that the implementation of this scheme will enhance transparency in the power distribution system and ensure better services for consumers. The administration has expressed hope that the project will lead to a noticeable improvement in the quality of electricity supply across the district in the coming years.
