
A vibrant folk and tribal musical program was held on the campus of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University in Rajouri, in collaboration with the District Administration and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The program showcased the rich cultural heritage of the region, with a particular focus on the traditions, food habits, and attire of the Gujjar and Pahari communities. Local artists captivated the audience with lively performances in regional languages, adding vibrancy and energy to the event.
The event was inaugurated by IGNCA Regional Director Shruti Awasthi, along with Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma, who jointly cut the ribbon to mark the opening.
Speaking on the occasion, officials said that such initiatives play a crucial role in preserving traditional art forms and promoting cultural awareness. They also highlighted the importance of such programs in boosting tourism and providing a platform for local talent to reach a wider audience.
