March 18, New Delhi — Doha has strongly condemned the reported attack on an Iranian energy facility along the Gulf coast, warning of serious risks to regional stability and global energy security.
Qatar's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Majed Al-Ansari, has stated that the alleged Israeli targeting of infrastructure linked to Iran's South Pars gas field, which connects to Qatar's North Field, is a "dangerous and irresponsible escalation" amid rising tensions in the region.
He noted that striking energy infrastructure not only threatens global supplies but also endangers the environment and communities across the Gulf.
Qatar has called upon all sides to exercise restraint, respect international law, and avoid targeting critical facilities, calling for immediate steps towards de-escalation to safeguard regional security and stability.
