
March 10, New Delhi – India is experiencing sharply contrasting weather patterns this week, with heatwave conditions building across western regions while the Himalayan belt and the Northeast brace for rain, thunderstorms, and hail.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings about heatwave conditions over Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Vidarbha on March 10 and March 11.
Meanwhile, a Western Disturbance is influencing the weather in the western Himalayan region.
Jammu & Kashmir is expected to receive heavy rainfall and snowfall on March 10 and 11, along with thunderstorms and possible hail.
Thunderstorms and hailstorms are likely in Himachal Pradesh from March 11 to 12. Weather activity may intensify until March 12, weaken briefly, and strengthen again between March 14 and 16.
The IMD stated that the country is expected to experience rising heat in western regions, while the hills and the Northeast experience unsettled weather conditions through midweek.
