
New Delhi, February 26 The Delhi government is enhancing the city's power infrastructure for the next 50 years, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Wednesday, as she inaugurated the project to bury electricity cables in Chandni Chowk.
Gupta stated that the 28 roads and streets in the Old Delhi area, including Kucha Mahajani, Bhagirath Palace, Jama Masjid Road, and Nai Sadak, will be freed from overhead electricity cables. The project will cost Rs 160 crore.
The government is actively promoting the adoption of electric vehicles, which will directly impact the need for more power, she said.
The chief minister stated that her government will also restore the historic Town Hall building as a monument.
