Rudraprayag, March 25 A helicopter service was launched on Wednesday in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand to transport pregnant women to hospitals; under this initiative, one woman was transported from Jakholi to the district hospital, officials said.
The service is free for pregnant women residing in remote and inaccessible areas, so that they can access facilities for safe delivery, they said.
According to officials, Udina, a resident of a remote area of the district, was transported by helicopter on Wednesday from Jakholi to Rudraprayag to ensure that her delivery could be conducted safely and under medical supervision.
District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar stated that this service would prove to be immensely beneficial, particularly for residents of areas where road connectivity is limited or where providing prompt medical assistance during emergencies is challenging.
