
NITI Aayog released a report in New Delhi today titled "Realising the Export Potential of India's Sports Equipment Manufacturing Sector," which aims to position India as a global hub for sports manufacturing.
The report focuses on leveraging micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), enhancing research and development, and addressing quality standards to boost export competitiveness. During the event, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Berry highlighted the need to strengthen competitiveness and export orientation in the country's industrial sectors, particularly among MSMEs. He emphasized that greater collaboration between policymakers, industry stakeholders, and innovators will be crucial in building a stronger and more globally integrated manufacturing ecosystem in the country.
Speaking at the event, NITI Aayog CEO Nidhi Chhibber noted that while India has strong capabilities in certain segments of sports equipment manufacturing, there is a need to further strengthen capacities in other areas.
