Rescue Operation Launched After Avalanches Block Highway

Srinagar, March 27 Multiple snow avalanches struck the Srinagar-Leh national highway on Friday, trapping several vehicles, officials said.

They said multiple avalanches hit the stretch between Zero Point and Minimarg in the afternoon, leaving several vehicles trapped under the debris.

A rescue operation has been launched, they said, adding that further details were awaited.
