Resident Commission Hosts J&K Students for Educational Visit.webp

A group of 20 students from Kashmir visited the Resident Commission of Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi as part of the "Bharat Darshan-2026" program, an initiative of the Ministry for Home Affairs. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that the visit was a key part of their educational tour, aimed at broadening their understanding of the National Capital's governance and administrative systems. The tour was organized to familiarize the students with the functioning of Government institutions outside the Union Territory and to provide insight into the role of the Resident Commission in facilitating coordination between the Government of J&K and various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India. The interaction session was conducted under the supervision of Additional Resident Commissioner Anil Sharma. He addressed the students and highlighted the mandate, objectives, and key responsibilities of the Resident Commission in New Delhi. During the session, the students learned about the Resident Commission's crucial role in liaising with Central Ministries and national agencies, facilitating official visits, and handling administrative matters for the UT. They were also briefed on the management of J&K Government properties and Guest Houses in Delhi, support services for citizens and officials from J&K, and the significance of institutional representation in safeguarding the Union Territory's interests. The interaction was informative and engaging, with the students actively participating and expressing enthusiasm in understanding the governance systems and national-level administrative mechanisms. The visit concluded with a group interaction and exchange of best wishes for the students' future endeavors.
