
Jamtara, March 15 Authorities in Jharkhand's Jamtara district on Sunday suspended the warden of a government-run residential girls' school after a Class 11 student died during treatment, with her family alleging that she was not promptly taken to hospital despite her deteriorating condition, officials said.
The student, identified as Chamoli Tudu, was studying at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya in Narayanpur block of the district. She died on Saturday while undergoing treatment at a hospital, they said.
District Education Officer (DEO) Charles Hembrom said the girl, a resident of Kumar Pahadi village, had fallen ill and her family members alleged negligence by the school authorities.
"According to the family, her condition worsened on Saturday but she was not taken to hospital immediately. They alleged there was a delay in shifting her for treatment," Hembrom told
