JAMMU, MARCH 31: The Jammu & Kashmir Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to enhance disaster resilience across the Union Territory.

The agreement was signed by Isabelle Tschan and Chandraker Bharti in the presence of Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo.

The partnership will support disaster preparedness through risk assessments, improved disaster management planning, and capacity building. Key focus areas include landslide and seismic risk mitigation, school safety, and mobilizing disaster risk financing.

The initiative is part of UNDP’s National Resilience Programme, which aims to strengthen disaster management systems and build resilient communities.
