Jaipur, March 13 A court in Jaipur has issued arrest warrants against retired IAS officer Subodh Agrawal and three others involved in alleged irregularities amounting to Rs 900 crore in the tender process for the Jal Jeevan Mission in Rajasthan, officials said on Friday.
The warrants have been issued by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Court No. 1 against Agrawal, Jitendra Sharma, Sanjeev Gupta and Mukesh Goyal.
"Raid operations are being conducted at multiple locations to apprehend the accused, an ACB official said.
If the warrants cannot be executed, the court may order the attachment of the accused's properties, the official said.
A lookout notice had already been issued against Agarwal, who served as additional chief secretary in the Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) when the alleged scam took place during the previous Congress government's tenure.
According to the ACB, fake completion certificates worth nearly Rs 960 crore were submitted to qualify for Jal Jeevan Mission contracts, leading to the alleged siphoning of funds worth crores of rupees involving contractors, senior engineers and public officials.
Last month, the ACB arrested nine persons, including senior engineers and retired officials, in connection with the alleged scam.
Launched in 2019, the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) is a flagship scheme of the Centre that aims to provide piped drinking water to every rural household through functional household tap connections.
