Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan described revenue service officers as the guardians of the nation's financial strength, emphasizing that development activities across the country are only possible due to the revenue generated through taxes. He made this statement to the trainee officers of the 79th batch of the Indian Revenue Service, Income Tax, who met with him in New Delhi yesterday. He stressed that the tax system must remain transparent, unbiased, and taxpayer-friendly, while firmly addressing tax evasion. Mr. Radhakrishnan stated that IRS officers possess a specialized skill set that makes them an important force in India's journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.
