The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Rising Star Corps, Lieutenant General Rajan Sharawat, today reviewed the operational readiness of troops in the Machhedi sector of Kathua district. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that the Bani-Macchedi mountainous region in Kathua district has experienced several attacks and encounters in the last two years. It is considered a route for infiltration into the districts of Doda, Kishtwar, and Udhampur from the International Border (IB). The GOC praised their battle readiness, high morale, and unwavering commitment to mission success under all circumstances. To prevent infiltration, the Army deployed several companies in the high-altitude Bani-Macchedi area last year.
