Malkangiri (Odisha), April 6 One person was killed and 20 others were injured in separate road accidents involving two tractors in Malkangiri district, Odisha, police said on Monday.
A tractor carrying sand hit a roadside tree and overturned near Singarajkhunta village under the Malkangiri police station on Monday morning.
The driver of the tractor, identified as Bhima Madkami (20), was killed on the spot after being struck by the tractor wheel due to the impact of the accident, according to Malkangiri police station inspector-in-charge Regan Kindo.
Kindo said the body has been sent for postmortem, and the vehicle has been seized.
In another incident, approximately 20 women from Mahupadar village under the Maithili police station area in Malkangiri district were injured when the tractor they were travelling in overturned.
All the injured women were initially admitted to Maithili Hospital for treatment, while one of the critically injured women was transferred to Koraput Medical College.
