April 06, New Delhi: In the ongoing 2026 Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings suffered their third consecutive defeat as they lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 43 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.
CSK has yet to register a win this season and remains at the bottom of the points table with a net run rate of -2.517. This also marks their second-longest losing streak at the beginning of an IPL campaign.
Put in to bat first, RCB posted a massive total of 250 for three. Devdutt Padikkal scored a brisk 50 off 29 balls, while opener Philip Salt added 46 off 30 balls to lay a strong foundation. Skipper Rajat Patidar and Tim David then accelerated the innings, with David smashing 70 off just 25 balls, helping RCB register the highest total of the season so far.
In response, CSK managed 207 in 19.4 overs. Sarfaraz Khan and Prashant Veer were the main contributors with the bat, but their efforts were not enough to prevent another defeat.
