Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme from Guwahati, Assam, today. Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, stated that Prime Minister Modi will release ₹18,640 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer into the bank accounts of approximately 9.32 crore farmers. He added that more than ₹4.09 lakh crore has already been transferred to farmers under the scheme so far. Chouhan further stated that with the release of this installment, the total amount will exceed ₹4.27 lakh crore.
