In Assam, commercial operations at the integrated terminal of Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport will begin today, marking a significant addition to the state’s aviation infrastructure.
The terminal has the capacity to serve approximately 1.3 crore passengers annually. Constructed at a cost of ₹4,000 crore, the new terminal features modern technology, an attractive architectural design, and advanced passenger facilities.
Notably, the terminal, which prominently features bamboo-based construction, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 20.
