The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) had decided to nominate its Vice President, Dol Prasad Aryal, as a candidate for Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR). This decision was made at a parliamentary party meeting of the RSP held in Singhadurbar yesterday. A proposal made by RSP President Rabi Lamichhane was unanimously approved by the parliamentary party meeting. The HoR meeting has been called for Sunday, April 5th, at 11 am, to elect the new Speaker of the HoR. Currently, Arjun Narsingh KC, the most senior member of Parliament, is acting as Speaker of the House of Representatives until a new Speaker is elected on April 5th.
Vice Chairperson of the RSP, Dol Prasad Aryal, submitted his nomination for the post of Speaker of the House of Representatives at the Federal Parliament Secretariat based in Singha Durbar today. RSP Chairperson and lawmaker Rabi Lamichhane proposed Aryal's candidacy, and lawmakers Swarnim Wagle, Sobita Gautam, and Sunil Lamsal seconded the proposal.
