KISHTWAR, FEBRUARY 16: The Department of Youth Services & Sports, Kishtwar District, launched the Youth Engagement Programme 2026 under the banner "League of Classics – Enjoy the Game," marking the beginning of a district-wide grassroots sports movement.
The programme is being conducted under the direction of Director General, Youth Services & Sports, J&K, Anuradha Gupta, and Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, and supervised by DYSSO, Kishtwar, Jaffer Haider Sheikh.
Block-level trial-cum-selection camps for Cricket, Football and Volleyball (U/17 and U/19 Boys) were held at HSS Bhadat for the Panchayats of Bhadat, Bhugrana and Barot, with enthusiastic participation from young athletes.
The initiative aims to identify and nurture rural sporting talent, strengthen block and district teams, and promote a vibrant sports culture across Kishtwar.
