Russia Considers Diverting Gas Sales Amid European Pressure

Russia Considers Diverting Gas Sales Amid European Pressure.webp

March 5, New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested on Wednesday that Russia could halt gas supplies to European markets and shift to more promising markets.

His remarks came as the European Commission was preparing a proposal to permanently ban Russian oil imports following Hungary's parliamentary elections. Speaking to state television, President Putin described the idea as preliminary thinking rather than a final decision and said he would instruct the government and energy companies to study the option.

He also emphasized that Russia has remained a reliable energy supplier and intends to continue cooperation with reliable partners, including Slovakia and Hungary.
