Sabarkantha, April 4 Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the new campus of Bhagwan Yajnavalkya Veda Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya in Sabarkantha on Saturday, and said it will play a key role in reviving "Sanatan knowledge" among the younger generation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through the National Education Policy, has emphasized reconnecting the youth with the core values of Indian culture, CM Patel said.
"This campus will help revive Sanatan knowledge among the younger generation and realize the vision of 'development as well as heritage'. The knowledge and values gained here will shape students into not just scholars but also strong nation-builders," he added.
This "sacred center of consciousness" will give a new direction to India's ancient Vedic traditions and knowledge heritage, Patel further said.
Sanskrit is the root source of the Vedas and Upanishads, and understanding our history is impossible without its knowledge, the CM said.
The government remains committed to preserving Sanskrit through institutions like Somnath Sanskrit University and the Gujarat State Sanskrit Board, he said.
He also appreciated that along with Sanskrit, modern subjects like English and computer education are being taught in this remote area.
"In the Amrit Kaal of Independence, embracing the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to shed a colonial mindset and take pride in our ancient culture, this Mahavidyalaya will contribute significantly towards achieving the vision of "Developed India @ 2047," he said.
