
Jaipur, March 11 A man died and nine others were injured after a sports utility vehicle (SUV) collided with a pickup truck in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan on Wednesday, police said.
Among the injured, four are reported to be in critical condition.
The accident occurred on the Salasar road when devotees from Nagpur, Maharashtra, were travelling in the SUV to offer prayers at the Salasar Balaji temple.
The vehicle collided with a pickup truck coming from Sikar on Salasar Road, police said.
"The impact was so severe that the car was badly damaged and the pickup truck overturned on the road," a police officer said.
With the help of locals, the injured were taken to the government Bagad district hospital, the officer said.
There were 10 people in the SUV and one person (the driver) in the pickup vehicle at the time of the accident. Mahadev, from Nagpur, who was travelling in the SUV, died on the spot.
Ghanshyam (40), Kanta (40), Pawan (20), Aradhana (24), Pallavi (22), Poonam (19), Payal (20), Tushar (25) and the pickup truck driver, Bhagirath (65), were injured.
The SUV driver, Manoj, sustained minor injuries, police said, adding that the body has been kept in the mortuary for an autopsy.
