Mumbai, February 18 – On Tuesday night, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was seen leaving the Lilavati Hospital, where his 90-year-old father and veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, had been admitted after complaining of swelling.
The actor stepped out of the hospital premises late at night, and made his way to his car as paparazzi gathered around his vehicle.
Amid the commotion, Salman was seen maintaining complete calm and composure, but he appeared visibly distressed. In one part of the video captured by the media, he was seen closing his eyes while seated inside the car, seemingly in silent prayer.
For those unfamiliar, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan was admitted to the ICU at Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday after being rushed there. Dr. Jalil Parkar, who is overseeing the case, issued a statement providing an update on Salim Khan's health.
He said, "Yes, it's true that Salim Khan (father of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan) and a renowned figure himself, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in the ICU early this morning at 8:30 am. He was brought in by their family doctor, Sandeep Chopra. Emergency care was initiated in the emergency room, and Mr. Salim Khan was then moved to the intensive care unit on the first floor. A team of doctors consisting of Dr. Vinay Chavan (neurologist), Dr. Ajit Menon (cardiologist), Dr. Nitin Dange (neurosurgeon), and Dr. Bineet Ahluwalia attended to him. We are respecting the family's request and will not be sharing further details today."
However, on Wednesday at 11:00 am, we will be issuing a press release with the consent of the family and maintaining patient confidentiality. We appreciate your patience. "He is stable but is under close observation regarding his clinical status," he added.
On Tuesday, following Salim Khan's hospitalization, his elder son, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, along with his daughters Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Arpita Khan, and actor husband Aayush Sharma, were seen arriving at the hospital.
Salman left his shooting in Madh Island to rush to meet his father.
