District Development Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan, chaired a review meeting today to assess the progress of the Vibrant Village Programme-II in the district.
During the meeting, the DDC directed designated Village Nodal Officers to conduct regular visits to their assigned villages and increase awareness among residents about various government initiatives. She emphasized achieving 100% implementation of key schemes, including water supply, social security benefits, the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) focusing on high-density plantations such as dragon fruit and strawberry, Mission YUVA, and universal screening for non-communicable diseases, along with the TB Mukt Bharat initiative.
The chair also stressed the need to strengthen infrastructure and support services in selected villages, including the establishment of Model Anganwadis and new Panchayat Buildings wherever required.
Highlighting the importance of convergence, she directed departments to align various UT-level and Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) to effectively address the needs identified under the programme and transform the villages into vibrant units.
The meeting also reviewed the functioning of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the district. The DDC instructed officials to complete all pending applications under PMAY-U Phase-I within one month. She further directed the organization of awareness camps to encourage applications under PMAY-U 2.0 and the PM-SVANidhi scheme.
Issues related to building permissions and outsourcing manpower for maintaining cleanliness in urban areas were also discussed.
The meeting was attended by senior district officers, including the Chief Planning Officer, Additional Commissioner Revenue, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Village Nodal Officers, and representatives of Urban Local Bodies.
