
Sambhal (UP), March 22 Three people were killed and nine others were injured after a car collided with a passenger tempo in the Sambhal district on Sunday evening, police said.
The accident occurred near the Udharanpur village when a car and a tempo carrying passengers collided head-on, Circle Officer Pradeep Kumar said.
According to police, two occupants of the car and ten passengers in the tempo were injured in the crash. A police team rushed to the scene and transported the injured to a nearby hospital.
Three of the injured succumbed to their injuries during treatment, while nine others are currently receiving treatment and have been referred to a higher medical center.
The deceased have been identified as Rajesh (24), Rajni (14), and Kishori Lal (40). All three were occupants of the tempo.
The injured include Ompal (35), Shaukeen (32), Rajnish (20), Priyanshu (14), and Kripal (35), among others.
Police said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and efforts are underway to determine the cause of the accident.
