
Sambhal (UP), March 15 Three people were killed and two others were injured after a motorcycle and a scooter collided head-on near Mirzapur village on Sunday, Bahjoi Circle Officer Pradeep Kumar said.
According to police, three people were travelling on the scooter, while two were riding the motorcycle when the incident occurred.
Saif (19), Satyaveer (18), and Gajendra (18) died in the accident, the officer said.
Police reached the spot shortly after receiving information about the incident, and the injured were taken by ambulance to the community health centre in Bahjoi, where doctors declared the three victims dead on arrival.
The two injured individuals – Faiz (19) and Alam Khan (18) – were given primary treatment and were later referred to a more advanced medical centre, Kumar said.
When asked whether any heavy vehicle might have run over the victims after the collision, the officer said that the possibility was being investigated, and evidence would be collected if such claims were found to be true.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the incident and has directed officials to expedite relief and medical assistance for the injured, officials said.
