
New Delhi, March 17 Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her cabinet colleagues called on Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu at Lok Niwas on Tuesday and shared with him the ongoing initiatives of the Delhi government aimed at achieving the Centre's Viksit Bharat vision.
The LG highlighted the key challenges and opportunities, and the collective resolve to develop Delhi as a "global capital" aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, the Lok Niwas said in a post on X.
The chief minister in a post on X said that she paid a courtesy visit to the LG along with her Cabinet colleagues. She said the meeting was a positive step towards further strengthening the shared commitment to the inclusive development of Delhi and public service.
"Sustained dialogue and coordination between the government and administration serve as the strong foundation for the state's progress and good governance," she said.
In the meeting with the Lieutenant Governor, a meaningful and extensive discussion was held on key schemes for public welfare and the vision to develop Delhi as a modern and world-class capital, she said.
The Delhi government is working with complete dedication and commitment for the bright future and all-round development of every citizen of Delhi, she added.
Senior officers of the Delhi government, including Chief Secretary Rajeev Sharma, also met Sandhu. The LG reviewed key governance and administrative matters concerning Delhi with the officers, the Lok Niwas said.
The LG, in a meeting with the police commissioner and special commissioners of the Delhi Police, appreciated their efforts and the challenges involved towards policing in the national capital.
He encouraged them to further enhance policing to ensure safe and secure Delhi, according to the city's status as the country's national capital, the Lok Niwas said in another post on X.
Within a week after taking charge as the Delhi Lieutenant Governor, Sandhu has held a series of meetings with top officers of different departments and discussed with them governance and development-related matters.
He also delivered a keynote address on the role of technology in nation-building at the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) Global Confluence 2026 held in the city.
He emphasised the transformative power of innovation, digital infrastructure, and responsible tech in shaping an inclusive and future-ready India, Sandhu said in a post on X.
