Amreli (Gujarat), March 29 A tremor of magnitude 3.1 struck the Amreli district of Gujarat on Sunday, with no reports of casualties or property damage, officials said.

The tremor was recorded at 4:10 pm, with its epicenter located approximately 42 km south-southeast of Amreli in the Saurashtra region at a depth of 11.6 km, according to the Gandhinagar-based Institute of Seismological Research.

Officials stated that there were no injuries and no property damage as a result of the tremor.

A similar tremor of magnitude 3.2 had struck the Rajkot district in the Saurashtra region on Tuesday.

"Several minor tremors have been experienced in Amreli in the past few days. The sarpanch of Mityala village confirmed that the tremor on Sunday was felt significantly," said Savarkundla Member of Legislative Assembly Mahesh Kaswala.

He said that Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel had assured him that a technical team would be sent to Amreli for further inspection.
