SC Cautions West Bengal DGP on Violence and Interference.webp

The Supreme Court has cautioned the Director General of Police of West Bengal regarding violence and political interference during the SIR process. The Court made it clear that if the DGP does not take initiative to address objectionable remarks made by political leaders, strict action will be taken against the DGP in the future. In the next hearing, the DGP must report on the measures taken in response to the complaints received. The case will be reheard next month.
