The School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has instructed teachers in Udhampur to refrain from using mobile phones inside classrooms during teaching hours, stating that this practice negatively affects the teaching-learning process.
According to an official order issued by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Udhampur on March 9, it has been observed that some teachers have been using mobile phones while teaching, which disrupts the academic environment and hinders effective classroom instruction.
In light of this, all Principals, Headmasters, and Zonal Education Offices in the district have been directed to ensure that teachers do not use mobile phones inside classrooms during teaching hours.
The order further states that the concerned Principals, Headmasters, and Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) must strictly monitor the implementation of these instructions in their respective institutions, clusters, and zones.
The CEO's office has warned that any violation of the directive will be viewed seriously and dealt with according to the rules.
A copy of the order has also been forwarded to the Directorate of School Education Jammu, the Joint Director of School Education Udhampur–Reasi Range, all Principals of Higher Secondary Schools, ZEOs, and Headmasters of High Schools in the district for information and necessary action.
