
Amaravati, March 29 Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will hand over 2.5 lakh houses to beneficiaries on Monday as part of the second phase of the state's housing distribution program, which will be launched from Sullurupeta in the Tirupati district.
The NDA coalition government had earlier distributed three lakh houses to beneficiaries from Rayachoti in November last year.
"Naidu will participate in the mass housewarming ceremony tomorrow and will hand over 2.5 lakh houses to beneficiaries under the second phase of the housing distribution program in Sullurupeta," an official press release on Sunday stated.
In the second phase, the Chief Minister will distribute one lakh houses from the Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TIDCO), along with another 1.5 lakh houses built for beneficiaries across the state.
The government has handed over a total of 5.5 lakh houses to the poor within 21 months of coming to power, the release stated.
Reaffirming its commitment to housing for all, the government said it is taking steps to provide homes to all eligible beneficiaries.
Following the program, Naidu will attend the first anniversary event of the Public-Private-People Partnership (P4) initiative launched for poverty eradication in Tirupati.
The CM will leave Amaravati at 10 am and reach Puduru at 11:50 am, where he will participate in the housewarming ceremonies and interact with beneficiaries, the release stated.
Later, he will attend a public meeting and hold a review meeting with party workers and leaders of the Sullurupeta constituency.
