In Jammu and Kashmir, security forces today recovered a cache of weapons and explosives during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the Kasbalari area of the Mendhar sub-division in the Poonch district. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that, acting on specific intelligence, security forces launched a joint search operation in Mohalla Salani, Kasbalari, under the Mendhar Police Station. During the operation, the forces recovered one large improvised explosive device (IED) weighing approximately 4.5 kg, one small IED, two Chinese grenades, one 9mm pistol with two rounds, 22 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and one old black bag. The recovered IEDs and grenades were subsequently destroyed on the spot in a controlled explosion. No loss of life or property damage was reported in the blast. Further investigation is ongoing, and more details are awaited.
