Major General APS Bal said Operation Trashi-I reflected coordinated efforts of security forces and resulted in success without troop casualties.
February 23, Srinagar: APS Bal, General Officer Commanding of the Counter-Insurgency Force Delta, on Monday said Operation Trashi-I exemplified perseverance, planning and coordinated efforts by security forces to counter terror activities.
Addressing a press conference, Bal said the recently concluded operation demonstrated clarity of thought, proper planning and an integrated approach by all forces and agencies involved.
He said the operation reflected seamless coordination at all levels, from troops on the ground to co-commanders, ADGs, IGs, the DGP and the Army commander, adding that all contributed decisively to its success.
Bal said the operation was backed by a support system that enabled the creation of infrastructure and the ferrying of supplies to hideouts. He added that police are aware of the support network and have the necessary information to take appropriate action against those involved.
He said the operation was executed in a calm, composed and collaborative manner, resulting in success without any casualties among troops, except for an Army dog named Tyson, who initiated the operation.
Bal also said counterterror operations would continue. In February, security forces eliminated six Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists, including one in the Udhampur area and another in Kishtwar, he said.
