Ranchi, March 19 Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday directed officials to take action against any attempt to disrupt law and order during the upcoming Eid, Sarhul, and Ram Navami festivals.
During a high-level meeting with senior officials, Soren asked them to ensure that all festivals are celebrated peacefully.
Deputies commissioners and SPs of all districts participated in the meeting via video conferencing.
The chief minister reviewed preparations related to law and order, hygiene, electricity, water supply, and other arrangements.
"There should be no unrest, violence, or mischief in the name of festivals. In such a situation, the police and administration should remain alert. Swift action must be taken against those who disrupt law and order," Soren told officials.
He instructed officials to ensure proper documentation of activities during religious processions.
"Safe zones must be established along procession routes, and adequate arrangements should be in place to handle emergencies. Informants should also be engaged so that information about any activity reaches the administration immediately," Soren said.
Soren directed deputy commissioners and SPs of all districts to ensure strict security arrangements across the state.
"Social media must be monitored continuously. Take quick action against anyone spreading misinformation or rumours on social media," CM said.
Soren also asked officials to ensure that no provocative songs are played during processions, install CCTV cameras at sensitive locations, and maintain uninterrupted power supply along procession routes.
