Security Review in Kishtwar: Northern Commander Highlights Progress.webp

Jammu, March 23 Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, the Northern Commander of the Army, visited the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, praising the troops for their professionalism and urging them to maintain sustained momentum to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.

Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), based in Pakistan, suffered a major setback in the Kishtwar district as the Army eliminated seven of its highly trained terrorists in a year-long operation in challenging high-altitude areas. The last three, including the most-wanted commander Saifullah, were killed on February 22.

In a post on X, the Northern Command stated that General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Lieutenant General Sharma, visited the Kishtwar sector to review operational preparedness and security arrangements.

He had detailed discussions with commanders and interacted with the troops.

"He appreciated their sustained efforts, professionalism, and resolute conduct of operations in challenging terrain and inclement weather conditions, urging them to maintain the momentum and seamless coordination with other security agencies to ensure continued peace and stability in the region," the post said.
